The West Indies team continued their dominant run in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup with a nine-wicket win over the Nepal national cricket team at the Wankhede Stadium. Chasing 134, West Indies cruised to 134/1 in just 15.2 overs to seal a Super Eights berth.

After opting to field, the Caribbean bowlers dismantled Nepal early. Jason Holder starred with 4/27, while Matthew Forde and Akeal Hosein struck in the powerplay. Dipendra Singh Airee fought back with a 58, guiding Nepal to 133/8. In reply, Shai Hope anchored the chase with an unbeaten 61, and Shimron Hetmyer smashed 46* as their 91-run stand off 59 balls hurt Nepal. West Indies wrapped up victory with 28 balls to spare, ending Nepal’s campaign.

Top Batting performance of the match – Shai Hope

West Indian skipper Shai Hope made the most of the batting conditions at Wankhede as he smashed the Nepal bowlers all around the ground while chasing a modest 135. Smashing an unbeaten 61, he laced his knock with five boundaries and three sixes.

Top Bowling performance of the match – Jason Holder

Tall right-arm quick Jason Holder was the wrecker-in-chief with the ball as he bagged a sensational four-wicket haul. His spell made sure that the West Indian team managed to restrict Nepal to a low total and later chased it down with utmost ease.
